The bat hangs from the branches of a lime tree. The lime tree is a common tree throughout northern Europe and is the national tree of several Eastern European countries. In America it is known as a Linden tree. It has heart-shaped leaves and produces fragrant blossoms which are used to make herbal tea and perfumes. As the wood of the Lime is soft and easy to work with, it is used for model making. It has great acoustic qualities and is used to make guitars and drums.
