An Invite From The Queen
This is a spectacular book, that will have children loving story time more than usual! When fruits from around the world receive a glossy, gold-edged invite from The Queen to a party, they get terribly excited. Rana the Banana picks out the perfect sequined dress, whilst the Groovey Granny Grapes practice their dance moves to wow The Queen at lunch. The only fruit that doesn't seem quite in the mood for this once-in-a-life-time party, is Cassandra the Gooseberry. She has a hunch that something isn't quite right about the whole celebration...
An Invite from The Queen is a musical in a book. In CD format, the fantastic musical score, specially composed for the story, is brought to life by Griff Rhys Jones’s humorous narration and a band of over 40 musicians and singers. This gorgeous and light-hearted storybook filled with delicious fruity illustrations, introduces little ones to different cultures through music, while encouraging healthy eating and a first awareness of where our food comes from.
Hackney Music Development Trust created this book as part of a First Steps project that they ran recently (with funding from Youth Music). The project drew on healthy eating, singing, music from around the world and some good old fashioned, slightly dark children’s literature seeing Casandra the gooseberry, Rana the banana, Anoop mango, Flamencio Naranja, Hercule le Poire and many more heading for a party with a difference at the Queen’s gaff.
An Invite From The Queen is now on sale for £8.99.
