MusicLeader Yorkshire is hosting a 1 day course, focusing on using rhythm in early years settings. The course, which will be running on Thursday 26th February 2009, is being led by Chris Bartram at the Priory Street Centre, York.

Rhythm surrounds us and lives inside everyone of us. It is perhaps the most fundamental music skill of all, which makes it essential that young children get to explore rhythm in fun and stimulating ways.

In this workshop practitioners will use a variety of practical approaches to explore the world of rhythm through the eyes and ears of young children, through listening, movement, singing and instrumental work. By the end of the workshop participants should have lots of ideas for games and activities that they can use to support young children in developing their rhythmic abilities.
